Privacy policy statement

Thank you for visiting our website and your interest in our company and products. We want you to feel safe and secure when visiting our website. We therefore take the protection of your personal details very seriously and will treat them with the strictest confidentiality.

These notes on data protection are provided to give you information about which data we store, when and how we use it – naturally in compliance with the current regulations on data protection in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Anonymous data collection

When you visit our websites, our web servers automatically record information of a general nature. This includes the type of web browser, the operating system being used, the domain name of your internet service provider, the IP address of the computer being used, the web page you are visiting us from, the Porsche web pages you are visiting and the date and duration of your visit. The information collected does not reveal any personal information about you. We analyse this data only for statistical purposes and only in an anonymous form.

Collection and processing of personal data

Personal details are only collected from you if you choose to provide them to us, for example when placing an order, completing a survey, entering a competition or registering for personalised services. In this case, you will be informed as to the purpose of the intended use and, where necessary, be asked to provide your consent to your details being stored. Your data will be encrypted before being transmitted and processed in order to prevent it from being accessed by unauthorised persons. This does not apply to the sending of e-mails.

Use and forwarding of collected data

The personal details collected while visiting our websites may be used without your consent only for the processing of orders or queries and, where necessary, forwarded to the relevant group company. Only with your consent will your data be stored in a central database of customers and prospective customers managed under the responsibility of Porsche AG and merged with any other data from the Porsche Group. This data will be used solely for the purposes of marketing, market research and opinion polls exclusively by Porsche Group companies and the Porsche sales organisation within the Federal Republic of Germany. You may revoke your consent for the future use of your data at any time.

Your data will not be sold, hired out or made available to third parties in any other way. The transmission of personal details to national institutions and authorities will only be carried out within the scope of compulsory national legislation. We require our employees, agencies and dealers to act in the strictest of confidence.

Cookies

‘Cookies’ are used in some areas of our web pages. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer’s hard drive by a website. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain any viruses. The cookies used by our websites do not collect any personal details. We use the information contained in cookies to make it easier for you to use our sites and to adapt them to your requirements.

Naturally, you can view our website without the need for cookies. If you would prefer not to have cookies saved on your computer, you can deactivate the relevant option in your browser settings. You can delete saved cookies in your browser settings at any time. However, without cookies, you may not be able to take full advantage of all website features.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’, which are text files placed on your computer to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the entire IP address transferred to a Google server in the US first and then truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the website operator for the purpose of evaluating your website usage, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google will not merge the IP address transmitted by your browser as part of the Google Analytics process with any other data held by Google. You may prevent the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being collected and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

Remarketing or ‘Similar target groups’ function of Google Inc.

This website uses Google AdWords remarketing or ‘Similar target groups’ function. This function can be used to specifically approach visitors to our website and other users with similar interests based on their online behaviour by running product recommendations and interest-related advertisements when they visit other websites in the Google Display Network or perform a Google search. If our advertisements are displayed on these websites, we are provided with information about the visits to these websites, e.g. how often our advertisement has been viewed, how many clicks and visits were generated via a specific advertisement and which contents were accessed on our website after clicking on an advertisement.

Analysis of website usage forms the basis for developing the interest-related advertisements. For this, Google uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are generated by a web server and stored on your computer by your web browser when you visit a website in the Google Display Network or a specific Google service. These cookies contain information about your last visit or your browser settings, e.g. your chosen language.

Cookies are employed to record visits to the website using the unique identification of a web browser on a specific computer and are not used to identify a person. All data is stored under a pseudonym so that any inference about the identity of the user, and thus personal identification, is not easily possible.

You can disable the use of cookies by Google by accessing your advertising preferences and selecting to opt out. Alternatively, you can disable the use of cookies by third-party providers by accessing the deactivation page of the Network Advertising Initiative and following the instructions provided for opting out.

Further information about Google Remarketing or ‘Similar target groups’ can be found at: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2676774?hl=en.

Google’s data privacy policy can be found at: http://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/privacy/.

You can also control the use of cookies through your browser settings (see above).
